Kite Aerial Photography:
This time with remote control!!! Sure makes taking pictures easy! Come inside and check out a bird's eye view of things.

Recently Finished Project:
The 30" Aluminum-Titanium "Lightweight" Telescope.
Now this was a fun project! My 18" scope on steroids! It's a 30" f/4.5 scope based on my 18" design, scaled up with a few modifications. 8 Titanium truss poles, two telrads plus an optical finder, wheelbarrow wheels and handles, built to fit inside a Minivan. Stands 10'8" at the eyepiece. This was designed for a one-person setup and takedown.

The 18" Project:
An 18" Aluminum Lightweight Telescope.
I'm using knowledge from building the 10", numerous net sources and a little creativity to guide me through this one. I also have TWO helpers this time!

Astropics:

Check out some of the scopes of other club members here.

The First Project:
Here is a link to my first Amateur Telescope Making (ATM) project. I have constructed a 10 inch telescope from common materials found locally, with the exception of the mirrors and the focuser. It provides excellent views of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and the planets.

My Equatorial Platform:
After using the 10" for two years I was eager to find a solution to the non-tracking problem of the Dobsonian mount. After a lot of net research, here it is!

The Awesome Space Shuttle!

Cool Iridium Flare pictures are here!
"What's an Iridium Flare?" you say. Basically the reflection of the sun off a satellite into your face. They can get extremely bright and they're very fun for naked eye astronomy.

Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) is the latest hobby. Hang a camera from your kite line and let 'er go. Sure is cool seeing familiar scenes from a new perspective like from 300 feet! I've just finished my first two rolls, check it out.
