![]() | Here we are (Ray, Cindy, Jen and me) at the Route 97 bridge just south of Union City Dam ready to shove off. It was a fine trip after the rain stopped and the sun finally came out, which was all of about one hour and then the sun set. At least it was warm and we packed ponchos for the first time (good thing). Water level was pretty low and we scraped in a few places but it was still easily doable. | |
![]() | This was Cindy's first canoe trip. Ray tried to dunk her, no not really. There's a rescue squad up there practicing river retrieval with ropes and floatating things. Makes you feel a little more safe to know these guys are out there. Here's Ray showing Cindy a few pointers. | ![]() |
![]() | Yes, it's raining. The grocery bag did a good job, but the ponchos were much more effective and stylish 8^) |

![]() | Ray showing us how he used to chew snuff just a few short weeks ago. No really I have no idea what he's doing. A remote shot from my adapted KAP Rig. |

![]() | Another use for the paddles. The girls talking about whatever girls talk about... whatever. |

![]() | Bob the Blue Heron doing a little fishing. He didn't want to stick around very long. I thought he was going left then he changes course and I end up with a butt shot. |

![]() | I really thought they were going to dunk at this point. I like how the lens flares when pointed toward the sun. |

![]() | Quick dip in the swimming hole. Then off again. |

![]() | Coming around one of the last bends in the creek. And here we are finally, after dragging the canoes up the huge bank. |
