Quite an interesting trip. Started out very warm and sunny, then turned quite cold with lightning and very heavy rain. What a muddy mess at the end where we pull out and load up. Took all of our mental facilities just to walk 3 steps without slipping. Wow, Adam almost gets the truck stuck, Josh and I drop the canoe twice while trying to load it (ouch). They dunked twice. We startled an immature bald eagle a few turns before the nest. Huge thing, he must have been feeding on the shoreline. He flew around behind us and I thought he was lining up to buzz us, but he kept on going. Quite an adventure. Many tricky areas of downed trees. Very fun.

One of the many tree congested areas. It certainly adds a little excitement to the otherwise calm float.
Jen, myself, Josh and Adam at the starting line in Wattsburg gearing up for another adventure.

You really start to appreciate relaxing views like this.
Two more cool river shots.
Testing out the remote control camera rig.

Here we are coming back down the creek after setting up the camera and paddling upstream.
Never know what's around the next turn.

One of many dead tree slalom courses on this leg.
OK, the dark clouds, lightning and heavy rain has moved in.

Getting cold but you want to save the warm, dry sweatshirts for the very end.
Adam doing wheelies.

After we get Adam's truck unstuck he gets to see just how slippery it is out here in the real world.
Jen's sandal got stuck about a foot deep in the stinky muck

This was the easy one. Mine had to go on the roof! It was hard enough just trying to walk let alone hoist an 85 lb. canoe up on the roof.
Here we are back at our car. Notice all that mud on our canoe that ends up running down onto Jen's car on our way home.
Man what a fun time floating down a peaceful country creek hardly ever needing to paddle. Sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it rains, sometimes you're worried about getting struck by lightning and sometimes like this time it's all three. It's so relaxing I could do it every weekend.
