Canoe Trip #3

Here's a few photos of our third canoe trip in our new canoe.

Location: French Creek from Rts. 6N & 19 to Cambridge Springs, PA (Legs #4,#5)
Date: June 23, 2002
Conditions: 83 degrees, sunny, perfect weather.
Flow Rate: 28, average for this day over past 26 years, 20

Getting ready
Donnie, Adam, me and Jen standing downstream from the Rt.6N bridge.

Jen, me, Donnie and Adam on the first of many refueling stops.
No Fear
Check these kids on the lower bridge
What do you think they're up to?

Yep, good old fashion bridge jumping. I call it crazy.
Half way
Four hours into the trip (we thought we were done) and this kayaker informs us we're almost half way. DOH!

This was our last planned stop.
The boys go for a swim
Adam and Donnie tried to avoid a tree in the creek and dumped their canoe. Looking back on it now it was pretty funny.

Took a few minutes to bail out Adam's canoe.
The End
And here we are finally at the end. The sun had gone down about a half an hour ago. We were all sun burnt and very tired. The trip ended up taking about 9 hours (we started at noon expecting a 4-5 hour trip). We did pass under a small bridge at about the halfway point so next time we'll locate that road and split this trip in half. Or else start at 8:00 in the morning.
